VirtualWorkers.Asia FAQs
Straight answers for employers and virtual workers
Getting started
VirtualWorkers.Asia is a job board where employers hire individual virtual workers from the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia directly. Individuals only — no agencies, no outsourcing firms, no middlemen. You deal with one person, agree pay with them directly, and they keep 100% of it.
Upwork and Fiverr are built for one-off gigs and take a percentage of every dollar that passes between you and the worker. VirtualWorkers.Asia is built for hiring long-term remote staff: you pay a flat subscription to make contact, then the working relationship — pay, hours, tools — is yours. No commissions on either side, ever.
An agency employs the worker and charges you a marked-up rate, often without telling you what the worker actually receives. Here there is no agency in the middle: you hire the individual, you agree their pay with them directly, and they keep all of it. Agencies and BPOs are not allowed to list on VirtualWorkers.Asia.
The Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia — the right country for the role. The Philippines is strongest for virtual assistants, customer service and admin; Vietnam for developers and technical roles; Indonesia for video and social content creatives.
Virtual assistants, customer service, admin and back-office support, bookkeeping, developers, QA and technical roles, video editors and social content creators — plus most other roles that can be done well remotely. Post the role you need and see who applies, or browse worker profiles by country, category and skill.
Three steps. Post a job free (or browse worker profiles), interview the candidates you like over your usual video call tool, then agree the salary, hours and start date directly with the person you choose. Many workers are available to start straight away.
Pricing & billing
Posting jobs and receiving applications is free. Contacting workers who haven’t applied to you requires Optimised — US$65 a month, flat — which also unlocks advanced worker filters and saved searches. Elite at US$95 a month adds ID, English and speed-test screening, an AI Hiring Assistant that analyses applications and rates candidate fit, plus verified references and referees. If you’d rather we find, screen and manage the worker for you, Done-For-You is priced per worker per month. Full details on the pricing page.
Post a job free, receive applications from individual workers, respond to every applicant, and browse and search full worker profiles by country, role and skill. Upgrading is only needed to contact workers who haven’t applied to you.
No, never. You agree pay directly with your worker and they keep 100% of it. The flat subscription is our only fee — it replaces the agency markup you’d otherwise pay.
Yes — subscribe, hire, cancel is how it’s meant to work. There’s no lock-in contract and nothing renews automatically: your access simply runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
No. Once you’ve hired, the relationship is between you and your worker — you don’t need us any more, and that’s by design. Keep your subscription only if you’re still hiring.
A fully managed option: we find, screen and manage the worker on your behalf, drawing on our established remote-staffing operation. Pricing is per worker per month and depends on the role. Book a consultation to talk it through.
Hiring & paying your worker
Directly, using whatever suits you both — Wise, Payoneer or an international bank transfer are the common choices. We are never in the payment flow and never touch your worker’s salary. Most employers pay monthly or fortnightly.
That’s between you and the worker — profiles list each worker’s expected monthly salary in US dollars, so you can see expectations before you make contact. Pay depends on the role, the worker’s experience and their country. Offering fair local-market pay gets you better candidates and far better retention.
All three. Workers state their availability — full-time, part-time or contract — on their profile, and you agree the exact hours directly with them.
The Philippines is UTC+8 and Vietnam and western Indonesia are UTC+7 — only two to four hours behind eastern Australia. That means real-time overlap for most of your working day, not an overnight handoff.
In the Philippines, English is an official language and professional fluency is widespread. In Vietnam and Indonesia it varies more by person. Every profile can state an English level from basic to fluent, and you can filter candidates by it once you’ve signed in — then judge it yourself in the interview.
Yes — virtual workers on our platform work from home with their own equipment. Profiles can list computer specs (processor, RAM, monitors and operating system) so you can check a worker’s setup suits the role before you interview.
Virtual workers are independent contractors working from their own country, so for most Australian businesses there’s no PAYG withholding, superannuation or payroll tax — the worker handles their own tax at home. Every situation is different though, so confirm with your accountant.
An end-of-year bonus custom across the region: in the Philippines a 13th-month payment in December is standard practice, Vietnam has a similar Tet (Lunar New Year) bonus, and Indonesia has THR, a religious-holiday allowance. When you hire a contractor directly it’s not legally required — but honouring the custom is a modest cost that builds serious loyalty.
Trust & verification
One human, one profile — that’s the rule the whole platform is built on. Workers can back their profile with references from past employers and managers, and each referee’s identity and affiliation are checked before a reference is badged as verified. Then interview as you would for any hire; you stay in control of the final call.
Paying employers complete a basic business verification step, such as confirming a business email or company registration, so workers know they are dealing with a real business. It keeps the quality of jobs on the board high — which is what attracts good workers in the first place.
Because you hire directly, you manage the relationship — including ending it — without agency exit fees or contract penalties. Most misfires trace back to a rushed brief or a skipped interview, so put the effort in up front. If you need to rehire, your job post and search are right where you left them.
For virtual workers
No. Joining as a worker is always free — no signup fees, no percentage of salary. Employer subscriptions are what keep it that way.
Individuals based in the Philippines, Vietnam or Indonesia. You must be one person representing yourself — agencies, teams and resellers can’t list, and profiles must be your own work history under your own name.
Complete your profile properly — expected salary, availability, English level, computer specs — and apply to jobs that genuinely match your skills. Adding verified references from past employers makes your profile stand out, because most candidates never bother.
Your employer pays you directly — commonly through Wise, Payoneer or bank transfer — on the schedule you agree together. VirtualWorkers.Asia never takes a cut: 100% of your agreed salary is yours.
