Collect professional references from the people who know your work — securely stored, verified and ready to share when opportunity comes.

  • Referees don’t have to be past employers
  • We contact them — you don’t chase anyone
  • Their contact details stay private

Get your references in 3 simple steps

  1. Choose your referees

Choose people who genuinely know your work, skills or character.

They don’t have to be previous employers.

    • Manager
    • Employer
    • Client
    • Colleague
    • Supervisor
    • Teacher
    • Coach
    • Community Leader
  2. We do the asking

Enter their details and we’ll securely contact them by email.

They receive a private link where they can complete their reference from their phone or computer — about 3 to 5 minutes. They sign in with a free account, so every reference is tied to a verified person.

You don’t need to chase emails or organise phone calls.

  3. Your reference is ready

Once completed, the reference is securely added to your profile and ready to share when you choose.

Who can give you a reference?

Your referee is the person. Your reference is their assessment of your work.

  • Employment Reference

    Manager, employer or direct supervisor

  • Professional Reference

Client, colleague, contractor, supplier or professional contact

  • Academic Reference

Teacher, lecturer, trainer or academic supervisor

  • Character Reference

Someone who knows your integrity, reliability and character

  • Community Reference

Coach, volunteer leader or community representative

  • Personal Reference

    Someone who knows you personally

Not all references carry the same weight.

We clearly identify how each referee knows you, so employers understand the relevance of every reference.

Your referee’s details stay private.

Their phone number, email address and verification information aren’t published on your profile.

Employers see the information they need to understand the reference — not your referee’s private contact information.

If an employer wants to contact your referee directly, they can request permission through the platform.

Questions workers ask

Who can be my referee?

Anyone who genuinely knows your work, skills or character — a manager, employer, client, colleague, supervisor, teacher, coach or community leader. When you add them you choose the reference category and how they know you, so every reference is labelled clearly for employers.

Does my referee need to be a previous employer?

No. Employment references from a manager or employer carry the most weight with employers, but professional, academic, community, character and personal references are all accepted. Each one shows its category and relationship, so employers can judge its relevance.

Can I see my reference?

That is up to your referee. When they complete the reference they choose who may view it — you, employers you approve, or both. Some references are employer-only. Either way, your dashboard always shows the status: invitation sent, reference received, verified.

Can I change what my referee writes?

No. A reference is your referee’s own assessment and can’t be edited by you — that is what makes it credible. You stay in control of sharing: you decide which references to share with which employer, and you can cancel an invitation before it has been completed.

Will employers see my referee’s phone number or email?

No. Referee contact details are never shown on your profile or inside a shared reference. An employer who wants to speak with your referee sends a contact request through the platform, and details are only released if your referee approves that specific request.

What if my referee doesn’t respond?

Nothing is lost. Your dashboard shows every invitation’s status, you can resend it after two days, or cancel it and choose someone else. Referees can also decline — you’ll see that too, and it never appears on your profile.

How does my referee provide the reference?

They receive an email with a private, expiring link. They sign in or create a free account — that verifies the reference really comes from them — then confirm how they know you, answer a short structured questionnaire (ratings plus a couple of examples), set their sharing preferences and submit. It takes about 3 to 5 minutes on a phone or computer.
