Interview and hire
Run the interview however you like — video call, a paid trial task, both. Agree the role, the hours and the pay, then pay the worker directly. We’re not in the middle and we don’t take a percentage of anything.

A first message that gets a reply
Workers get vague messages every week. Specific ones get answered.
Hi Maria — I’m Adam, I run a 12-person accounting firm in Newcastle, Australia.
I’m hiring a full-time customer support lead, 9–5 AEST, working in Xero and Zendesk. Your three years at an accounting firm caught my eye.
The role pays US$900–1,100 a month, paid monthly, direct. If that’s in range, are you free for a 20-minute call Thursday or Friday? Happy to send a short paid trial task after we talk.
Thanks — Adam

Outreach that works — and what to avoid
Do
- Say who you are and name the business — anonymous messages get ignored.
- Put the hours in their time zone as well as yours.
- Give a real salary range. Workers skip “competitive”.
- Mention one specific thing from their profile.
- Propose a concrete next step and a time.
Avoid
- Asking for free “test work” before you’ve talked.
- Messaging ten people with the same generic paragraph.
- Asking for their rate without stating yours.
- Moving the whole conversation off-site in the first message.
- Asking about age, family or religion — irrelevant and unlawful to hire on in Australia.
On Free, they apply and you reply
The Free plan lets you post unlimited jobs, receive unlimited applications and reply to anyone who applies. Reading profiles is free too — every profile, every filter.
A paid plan is only needed when you want to reach out first: to the people who haven’t seen your job yet, or who aren’t actively applying but are open to the right offer. That’s usually where the best candidates are.

Contact and messaging questions
Is there a limit on how many workers I can contact?
No. There are no caps and no per-contact fees on any paid plan. Contact one worker or fifty in a month — the price is the same flat subscription.
Does the worker see who I am?
Yes. Your name and company show on every message, and your company profile is one click away. Workers respond better to employers they can see, which is why paying employers also complete a basic business verification step.
What contact details do I get?
Whatever the worker has chosen to share on their profile — typically an email address and a phone number, often a website, portfolio or LinkedIn link as well.
Should I message through the site or email directly?
Start in the dashboard inbox. The worker gets a notification, the thread is kept in one place for you both, and you can move to email, WhatsApp or a video call once you’ve agreed to talk. Direct details are there for the interview stage, not the first hello.
How quickly do workers reply?
Most workers on VirtualWorkers.Asia are actively looking and check messages daily. Profiles show when a worker was last active, so you can prioritise people who were on the site this week.
What happens to my conversations if I cancel?
They stay in your inbox and you can keep replying in any conversation you have already started. Starting new conversations needs an active Optimised or Elite plan.
Can I still hire on the Free plan?
Yes. Post a job, and anyone who applies can be replied to, interviewed and hired — free. The paid plans are for when you would rather go and find the person yourself instead of waiting for them to find your ad.
Don’t wait for the right person to find you.
Post a free job today, and upgrade the moment you want to reach out first.
